WTF: Texas Congresswomen Who Vanished for Months was Found in Care Home

Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger, who represents Texas Congressional District 12 (which includes where I used to live) was last seen in Congress in July 2024. Her office in DFW area was already emptied out, and all attempt to contact her went to a recorded message. The Dallas Express has finally located her in a "care home" after a tip-off. The staff at the care home refused to admit the reporters for an interview. The staff did confirm the congresswoman is residing there. 

The tipster claimed the congresswoman was found confused and wandering in her former neighborhood and was relocated to the care home. After the news had broke, Congresswoman's son FINALLY contacted the newspapers to confirm the news, but denied she's in a memory care unit. However, the facility does offer that option. A statement purportedly from the congresswoman was released. 

The congresswoman and her staff remains on taxpayer payroll until January 3, 2025, when the congressperson-elect takes office. If you do the math, that means for the past 5 months, District 12 went unrepresented in Congress. 

Which brings up an interesting question... Why did my former residence, Fort Worth, never noticed? No political figure, no news organization, nobody? Or did they decided to keep quiet, and let Dallas take the scoop? 

Banning Abortion Was Never About Protecting the Unborn or Mother, Redux

While Roe vs Wade that been repealed, and it is up to individual states to determine what can or cannot be done, we are now dealing with the aftermath of that decision. 

Back in May 2022, I had pointed out that leading cause of maternal or pregnant mortality between 2018 and 2019 is none other than homicide. 

And this trend appears to have not stopped. Dallas police has arrested Harold Thompson for shooting his girlfriend to death. His reason for killing her? She got an abortion in Colorado. This guy had  an arrest warrant in March for beating a woman, probably the same one he killed. He can't control her through the baby anymore, so he killed her. 

And that's just one of the more egregious cases we've seen. We have no statistics on how many women from the Red states have left to get abortions. We know that some Red states passed laws aiming to punish people who aided women leaving the state to get procedures, even those medically necessary, or to aid minors who were raped. It's gotten bad enough, some Blue states are passing shield laws to counter such.  

Pro-life is not about life. It's about control over a woman's body. It always was. 

Did Dallas CPS Really Seize a Baby From Parents For Choosing a Midwife?

The headline is sensational: "Black Couple Says Texas Authorities Seized Their Newborn Because They Chose a Midwife Over a Hospital"

But are the facts true? Here's the narrative, TL;DR version: 

• The Jacksons, who live in Desoto, near Dallas, Texas, chose home birth and gave birth to Mila 2 weeks ago, with a licensed midwife
• Jacksons took Mila to their pediatrician for a checkup, and doctor diagnosed Mila with jaundice, a common condition.
• Jacksons chose home treatment with their midwife instead of hospital stay.
• The doctor reported the Jacksons to Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) even though the Jackson have explained to the doctor that the midwife will conduct phototherapy.
• Desoto police and CPS agents raided Jacksons' home at 5AM but the parents refused to hand the baby over. Police and CPS left after a while, only to return later demanding that the couple hand over the child again as she's legally a CPS ward at this time, despite after hearing explanations from both the parents AND the midwife. They eventually left again. Several days went by.
• Last Tuesday, police returned and demanded the baby AGAIN, and when the parent refused, one was arrested, then police took his keys, and used it to enter his home and took the baby.
• Jacksons have had ONE visit with the baby, and when they noticed some problems with the baby, they were DENIED permission to seek treatment, was told "it's the foster family's responsibility"

But are these ALL the facts? 

Not quite. Here's what they don't tell you, or it got glossed over, and you have to dig to find it. 

While mild jaundice does go away by itself, baby Mila's bilirubin level is 21.7. That is considered "go to the hospital ASAP" level of jaundice. 

And according to reports, the family has been with the same pediatrician for years, so presumably he did not call CPS at the drop of a hat, but only did so when he felt he had no choice in the best interest of the child. 

But let's make things perfectly clear: 

A midwife is NOT a pediatrician or a neonatologist. And severe jaundice is beyond the expertise of a midwife. 

So in essence, the parents are right: they did get their baby taken away BECAUSE they want a midwife to treat their baby for severe jaundice instead of a hospital and a pediatrician. 

That's the equivalent of asking your local quick-lube place (that changes your engine oil) to replace your car's engine. 

But the real question now is, is CPS sending the baby off to get the phototherapy done? Did it work?

And the post-mortem, why did the whole thing took another two days for CPS to take custody? 

Increasing Karen-ness All Over the Nation: It's Reaching the Government!

We've seen in the MAGA states that legislatures and governors are passing laws that increasingly extend government control over people's lives, often worded in terms of "protection". This in turned enabled more and more Karens (and Chads) to act as some sort of morality police by abusing the few bits of power they have. However, two recent incidents I heard about really... "chafed my hide" so to speak. 

One story is from BoredPanda, where they highlight various Reddit stories such as "/r/Idontworkherelady". To make a long story short: OP (original poster) has a job as a hotel front desk clerk. After hours, he removed all name tags and identifying material, went with a few buddies to a bar, had drinks, had a good time, and was driven home by a designated driver. Responsible adult, right? Not to a Karen. Who apparently posted something in the review forum accusing OP of being a "very poor choice of staff". The manager was reviewing the situation and interviewed everyone. OP answered truthfully, and the manager thanked him. Corporate got in touch with Karen and finally understood that Karen believed that people who work front desk jobs should be sober 24/7, even off work. 

Nothing happened to OP, the review was deleted by corporate, and later that Karen was put on the DNR (do not rent) list. Whether that's due to Karen's actions, who really knows? 

The temerity of that Karen, to act as morality police dictating who can have a good time and who cannot, sheesh!

But wait, here comes Texas A&M University President Walter Wendler banning a drag show on campus in support of the Trevor Project, which is a suicide prevention org for LGBT+ youths. Based on Wendler's statements, he knew what he ordered is both against the US Constitution AND Texas Law, but he apparently doesn't give a ****, because he believed he was serving a higher purpose: protecting women from being made fun of.

However, it gets worse. Can you imagine police coming to your door for something that happened in front of your house, smelling alcohol on your breath, seeing that your house is a bit unkempt, and deciding to arrest you, then going inside your house without a warrant to photograph the state of unkemptness as "evidence" since you apparently cannot take care of yourself?  

Yep, it really happened in North Hampton, New Hampshire. 

So what's the common theme among these three stories? People who believe they can dictate what you can or cannot do, despite having no such authority. They are Type II: The Vigilante Karen, in my book. Type II Karens decided to right some wrongs with their power, except such wrongs are only in her head. 

In case 1, the Karen arbitrarily decided that "front desk clerks should NEVER drink". 

In case 2, the uni president arbitrarily decided that "drag shows are insulting to women and I must protect women from them"

In case 3, the police arbitrarily decided that "if she drinks and has a dirty house she must be protected from herself"

Watch out when someone else decided to make your business THEIR business... 

Banning Abortion Was NEVER About Protecting the Unborn or the Mother

The latest leak to Politico of how SCOTUS may be thinking was a shocker... They are seriously thinking about ending Roe v Wade. 

Texas, and many southern states have been waging their war on abortion by passing increasingly stricter controls on who can provide such procedures, and the amount of paperwork and time delay the woman must go through to get one. 

Multiple states have previously attempted to either try to give the father a right to veto the abortion or require the father to be notified. Both were struck down by previous SCOTUS, but if RvW was overturned, one can expect such prior decisions to be moot. 

And just to point out the inequities, a father is NOT allowed a "financial abortion", since he never wanted kids, and his partner got pregnant anyway (sometimes, through extraordinary measures, such as stealing a spent condom...). The court ruled that a child's need for support supersedes the father's interests. 

But what they don't realize, or care about, is the law of unintended circumstances. 

What do you think the father would do if the pregnant woman was FORCED by the government and circumstances to carry the child to term, and he cannot opt-out of that responsibility? 

Do you really think he'll just turn into a productive citizen for the sake of the child? 

Some may, but some will seek a different solution. 

This answer will be extremely disturbing, but also terribly obvious. 

The answer is... murder. 

Between 2018 and 2019, HOMICIDE is the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH for pregnant women (and newborn mothers) by "more than twofold" over the other leading causes of maternal mortality.

 

Think about that. 

A woman, merely by being pregnant, is MORE likely to die by homicide, compared to the non-pregnant population of the same age and race. 

Think about that. 

Further tightening the ban on abortion will only make this worse. 

We are already in the age of COVID and Qanon. Qanon fodders have killed their wives just because they read somewhere that their wives are contaminated with lizard DNA or some such nonsense. Add stress of COVID to that, THEN add the idea of an UNWANTED family, what do you think would happen? 

In an alleged attempt to save one life, the anti-abortion laws are killing two, three if you count the (don't-wanna-be) father. 

It's not about saving lives. 

It's about control. 

It was always about control. 

COVIDiocy Conspiracy: Are the Antivaxxers Bankrolled by Koch Network?

The Daily Post just dropped a new article: "How the Koch Network Hijacked the War on COVID". It is quite long, but it can be summed up as... Koch Industries, one of the largest privately held fossil fuel company in the world, saw the lockdown as draining its profits (due to sharp drop in fuel use due to lockdown and supply chain problems), so it is using its reserves to push for re-opening at all fronts, from businesses lobbying, to medical professionals declaring, to social media blitzing, and more, directly contravening public health policies, and this is leading to millions of American casualties. 

One of the fronts was the so-called Great Barrington Declaration, where it calls for re-opening and targeted vaccination of the essential. The WHO outright called it "unethical", and other scientists called it cold-hearted, as it essentially sacrifices part of the population. The conference where GBD was signed was at American Institute for Economic Research, at Great Barrington, Massachusetts. What people may not have noticed is AIER derived a bit portion of its budget from Koch or foundations linked with Koch. 

It can be said that both Florida and Texas, with Republican governors, simply followed Trump as Trump liked the GBD, and even welcomed some of the signatories to the White House. At this point, it's worth noting that Trump's COVID advisor, Scott Atlas, is an MD, but has no background in epidemiology or public health. He had publicly stated that masks do not help curb infection, and called the idea of vaccinating children "denial of science". Both have been proven wrong. Trump's response to COVID was basically "let it run", which jives with GBD's approach to COVID... let it run and hope it achieves herd immunity. In fact, Trump said so in an interview, except he actually said "herd mentality". And Trump lost (and tried to cover that up by alleging voter fraud, but that's not relevant here). 

The Biden administration had already publicly stated that lockdown are off the table, even as omicron swept the country and is already deep into the US now. And Florida and Texas are opposed to various public health measures, with several other states following suit as well, mainly based on COVID misinformation spread by so-called think-tanks directly or indirectly funded by Koch or alumni from such think-tanks. 

My thoughts on this... 

This is about as close as the Illuminati being the Black Hand behind everything. And it fits a little TOO well. I doubt there is an active thought to mess with public health, but even unconscious bias has huge consequences when it involves billions of dollars. It's more like "where do I find some experts who agree with what I need?"

But at a deeper level, it is very... cold and calculating. And as a result, very disturbing. 

And it also explains the linkup between antivaxxers and conservatives. They sought each other. 

And the result is more American casualties as collateral damage for ideological gains. 

That's fascist, not American. 

COVID Update: 4-year old Texas Girl's Death now ruled as Undetermined

 Previously we reported the death of Kali Cook in Texas as a COVID death, as that was what the initial report says. However, now that a full autopsy had been performed in November, the cause of death was changed to "undetermined", because while COVID virus was found in her system, there seems to be not enough damage that could cause her to stop living.

Today is 9/11, the day when the largest terrorist attack on US soil took 3000+ lives in moments. 

Today also marks a time that it has been more than 20 months since COVID first appeared in the US, and it has claimed 659K lives since then in the US alone (check on Google for latest CDC data). 

In fact, on September 10th alone, CDC recorded 2418 deaths, in the US. And the trend is still upwards. We may see deaths surpassing 3000 daily in a few days.

Yet it seems some people are so desperate to go back to normal, they are ignoring the deaths and prefer to tout "right to choose". 

Texas Governor Abbot infamously tweeted that he will defend the Texans' "right to choose" when the Biden administration announced some sweeping vaccine mandates in a few months. How he can tweet that, having signed the anti-abortion law which limits Texas women's "right to choose" not too long ago, signifies the broken Republican moral system, and clearly, his own broken hypocrisy detector. But let's not get into that at the moment. 

It seems a lot of Federal Worker Unions are not going to be onboard the vaccine mandate train, so to speak. Many have carefully worded their response as "workers should have a choice in their own working conditions" or similar verbiage. 

Translation: "You can't tell me what to do!" (Even though it's the right thing to do, like masking up, or getting vaccinated.)

Who says that? Entitled people, i.e. the "Karens" of the world. 

One Florida parent was arrested when he got physical with a student who started filming him without a mask on inside the school. The guy was already warned several times for not wearing a mask despite school policy. So he was basically provoking a reaction. 

In California, a man got into fisticuffs with a teacher who was trying to protect the principal as the man yelled profanities over the school's mask policy. He was arrested for assault and battery. 

In Austin, Texas, several parents started yelling at the teachers who chose to stay masked during a meet-the-teachers meeting. One parent even yanked the mask off a teacher's face. The two cases had shaken the community. (FWIW, Governor Abbot of Texas, whom we mentioned earlier, also signed an order PROHIBITING mask mandates)

Please keep in mind that Florida, Texas, and California are the most populous states in the US, and therefore, COVID hotbeds, with the most cases... and deaths. 

Given that we can't vaccinate the kids yet, at least those under 12 years of age, the only way to protect them was to mask them, and the teachers, and all the school employees, and EVERYONE around them (including the parents, relatives, and so on).  It'd be better they all get vaccinated too, but it takes weeks for the vaccination to reach full potency (the antibodies get made).  Masking is immediate. 

So people opposing the masks are basically saying "my right to NOT cover my face is more important than protecting the kids". 

COVID is not merciful. Given half of US population is fully vaccinated, the new COVID cases are almost exclusively of the unvaccinated, and sadly, that includes children. Infants. Babies. EVEN THE UNBORN. Yes, COVID also causes fetal deaths. And we've earlier covered a case where a 4-year old went from fever to death in mere HOURS. Children are now over 20% of new COVID cases in several different states. 

In 2020, we thought we had survived COVID because we didn't get the huge wave of casualties like China when the entire medical system was overwhelmed in Wuhan. 

It is now 2021, and ICUs across the country are filling up with COVID patients with a good number of them children. Several states have started or are preparing for "rationing care" because they only have so much resources available to fight COVID. First state to do so was Idaho. Care to guess which party is Idaho's governor? You guess it: Republican. It is just so ironic to see how Sarah Palin (Republican) tried to push the narrative of a "death panel" in the 2009 political debate, and it is now forced into practice... 

The Republican party has governors in two out of three most populous (and thus, most COVID) states. DeSantis in Florida, and Abbott in Texas. BOTH have signed mask anti-mandate orders for their state in the name of "freedom for the parents". 

It is no coincidence that many reports of overwhelmed hospitals have surfaced from both Texas and Florida. Texas had run out of ICU space near Houston, and Florida is believed to have less than 10% space left in ICU as of mid-August.

Is freedom really worth THAT much death, esp. of children?

Scary COVID: Texas 4-year old died only HOURS after manifesting fever, later confirmed COVID

UPDATE: Autopsy completed in November says while Kali is indeed sick of COVID, the actual cause of death is undetermined.

 The story was simple and heartbreaking: Kali was a vivacious 4-year old girl living her life in Galveston County, Texas. Her mom was anti-vax and did NOT get vaxxed. She tested positive for COVID and was self-isolating at home. And Kali, being 4, can't be vaccinated as the vaccine was not approved for children that young. 

One night, she had a fever at 2AM on Tuesday, the day after her mom was diagnosed with COVID and was self-isolating at home. Kali's grandma gave her some fever reducer and put her to bed. At 7AM, just hours later, grandma went to check on Kali. She was not breathing. Kali would never see her 5th birthday. Post-mortem examination confirmed little Kali died from COVID. 

Mom expressed regret in not getting vaccination sooner. 

“I ended up getting COVID and was diagnosed on Monday,” Harwood (mom) said. “I came home and was isolated. I tried to stay away from her and didn’t want her and my other kids to get it.”

When asked about her vaccination and her thoughts on it:

Harwood said she wasn’t vaccinated.

“I was one of the people that was anti, I was against it,” she said. “Now, I wish I never was.”

 If you won't get vaxxed because you don't believe in it, would you do it for the children? 

More COVIDiocy: Multiple States Overwhelmed by COVID Delta due to Unvaxxed

 CBS News reported that near Houston, Texas, hospitals are running out of COVID ICU bed space that transfer time is now several DAYS. The timer for a transfer is usually measured in MINUTES, tens of minutes, and occasionally, hundreds of minutes. But it should never go into THOUSANDS of minutes. Yet a patient more than an hour away from one of the largest concentrations of hospitals (80+ hospitals near Houston) is unable to find an ICU bed to take him for FIVE DAYS. ALL of the hospitals are overflowing with COVID patients. El Campo Hospital's ER has 19 COVID patients and 1 non-COVID patient. And it's been like that "for three weeks", according to Dr. Kakli. On the day Dr. Kakli finally found a bed for the patient in a Houston hospital, 5 NEW COVID patients were admitted. NONE were vaccinated. CBS News had previously reported that a Texas man who got gallstone pancreatitis died because all the other ICU bed spaces were taken up by COVID patients. 

Idaho health officials have enacted "crisis standards of care" in 10 hospitals due to the overwhelming number of COVID cases. Residents are warned that they may NOT get the care they normally expect if they are hospitalized, esp. in northern parts of the state. Hospitals are now allowed to triage and reserve the treatment for the patients most likely to survive. Due to staff shortage, it is simply not possible to have one critical nurse per patient. Now, it's one critical care nurse and two non-critical care nurses watching over up to six patients. And hospitals are quickly turning conferences rooms and classrooms into temporary COVID wards, and many ER patients are left in the lobby or corridors. Rural hospitals are finding it nearly impossible to transfer trauma patients to the larger city hospitals. 

It is worth noting that Idaho BARELY avoided declaring this step last year by ordering a state partial shutdown and slow reactivation. 

Idaho Governor Little has already called in available aid from both the Federal government and the National Guard to help. It may not be enough. Idaho has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the US. 

In other news, Hawaii governor David Ige has signed legislation releasing hospitals and staff from liability should an outbreak force the medical services to triage and ration health care. Despite orders to limit outdoor events to 25 or less, and indoor events to 10 or less, Honolulu police had to break up SEVERAL large events over the labor day weekend. With ICU and ER at capacity, Hawaiian officials fear the worst, as labor day can be another super-spreader event that will finally push the system over the breaking point, and they would be forced to implement care rationing. 

Finally, several Oregon counties are requesting refrigerated trucks because their morgue is at or over capacity due to COVID cases, and the casualties are WORSE in 2021 than 2020. 

In other words, if you are unvaxxed, expect to get sick, expect to NOT get the normal level of care, because all the unvaxxed people are getting sick. And if you died, you may not get buried in a timely manner either. 

Don't be a COVIDiot. Get vaxxed ASAP.
