COVIDiocy Regret: Virginia Dad Barely Survived COVID, Recorded Regret from Hospital Bed

Travis Campbell of Bristol Virginia barely survived COVID. He was diagnosed of COVID on July 22nd, and went into the hospital two days later. Doctors told him any later and he may not have made it, as his lungs were being damaged, and he was admitted to pulmonary ICU right away. In early August, he was telling his wife and his Facebook viewers that he "truly regrets not getting the vaccine", and were making final arrangement just in case.

But we're happy to say he has recovered sufficiently to go home after battling COVID for three weeks.

Travis blames what he saw on social media for his misfortune. He is now pro-vaccine.

Do NOT be like Travis WAS. Get vaccinated ASAP.

More COVIDiocy: It's the Unvaccinated That's Holding Up the Recovery, and Numbers Prove It

My theory: the primary reason the US economy is suffering and we are not going back to normal is the unvaccinated population.

Why? Let me lay it out for you.

A) Cost

It costs at least $20000 to treat each COVID patient in a hospital. Studies show anywhere from just over $20000 to over $24000. And that's not counting any ventilator use. That's a fact.

B) COVID Vaccine Prevents Hospitalization

Researchers found that vaccines are 92-95% effective at preventing hospitalizations among those who have been vaccinated.

To project from this, most people in hospitals with COVID are unvaccinated. Indeed, this is verified through various news reports. And the percentage is around 90%. That's right, 90% of COVID cases in hospitals can be prevented.

So what happens when you combine these two facts?

The Math Adds Up

Let's do a bit of rounding DOWN. Let's say 84% of unvaccinated hospitalizations for COVID that were preventable. (Read this link to understand how the number was chosen)

Care to guess how many people that would be for the US that would be, from June to August 2021?

About 287000 people.

At $20000 each, that's 5.7 BILLION DOLLARS.

US could have saved $5.7 BILLION dollars if everyone got vaccinated,
according to Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker.

And that's NOT counting ancillary benefits, like very few children have to die from COVID, nobody has to be turned away from ICU because ICU was full, nobody would be overdosing from Ivermectin...

The sooner the pandemic runs out of victims, whether through death or vaccination, the sooner pandemic will end. That is obvious.

And it's the unvaccinated who does NOT want to return to normal, despite their rhetoric. They are holding up the recovery, more interested in their "freedom" than doing the right thing. They only want to focus on "you can't tell me what to do!"

The unvaccianted are COVIDiots.

Don't be COVIDiots like them.

More COVIDiocy: Antivaxxers Dying in Droves, But It Only Encouraged Even Crazier Behavior

Australian news reported that a COVID denier over there caught COVID, and was rushed to hospital while still insisting he merely had a cold. He's now critical (but still hanging on). But that's hardly the crazy story. Back in January, COVID deniers are alleging "empty hospitals", and one tried to remove a critically ill patient from a hospital in Surrey, UK

A dark humor subreddit called /r/HermanCainAward (named after former US Congressman Herman Cain, who refused to wear a mask, denied that COVID exists, before succumbing to COVID) has plenty of submissions.

There is also a website sorryantivaxxers.com that keeps track of news reports based on user submissions. However, it does not provide a count. The Australian news reported that the website can't keep up with submissions, but I was not able to confirm this.

Not when adults jeered at a teenager who supports mask mandate because his grandma had died of COVID.

But the point is there are so many unvaccinated people infected with COVID clogging up the hospitals that...

States planning to or already rationing care to those who really need it

Idaho has already started rationing care in the northern parts of the state, and Hawaii has passed legislation exempting hospitals and workers from prosecution should they be forced to do so.

People suffering from OTHER ICU-required conditions are dying

We've previously reported that a Houston (Texas, USA) veteran died because he was unable to reach a hospital in time. He had gallstone-induced pancreatitis, a pretty simple operation... if ICU was available. By the time an ICU bed was found for him, his bowels had perforated.

We now have to report on another victim... an Alabama man was turned away by 43 full ICUs across three states for his heart attack before a cardiac ICU bed was found 200 miles away in Mississippi. He died there, far from home.

To put it plainly, people's refusal to get vaccinated is clogging up hospitals, leading to overloaded ICUs and deaths of people who should otherwise survive.

So why are people refusing to get vaccinated? Mainly boils down to "you can't tell me what to do!"  Because there is no valid scientific reason to do so.

The situation was certainly not helped when Nicki Minaj (yes, the singer) tweeted that her cousin's friend got swollen balls from the COVID vaccine so bad that his fiancee called off the wedding. No, I'm not making this up. I have no problem with Nicki not showing up at the Met Gala as she refused to get vaxxed and she doesn't want to show up. But when she tweeted that she's "doing my own research" and started relaying third- or fourth-party hearsay, it's clear that she's a vaccine denier.

But that's not the weirdest news. According to RollingStone.com, Anti-Vaxxers are gargling iodine hoping to stop COVID. The problem is, Betadine is only for external use. In fact, Betadine is poisonous and can lead to kidney failure if consumed internally.

Makes you wonder who's coming up with these bogus ingredients for these antivaxxers.

First it was hydroxychloroquine, which was an anti-parasite drug that's also an immunosuppressant... Something you do NOT need when fighting a virus.  And in fact, can make it worse.

Then it's ivermectin, which is again, an anti-parasite drug, mostly used for animals. Again, no effect on virus. It's also in a lot of canine and feline anti-parasite meds.

Now it's betadine (i.e. iodine), which is a topical antiseptic that has, no surprise, no effect on virus. But this is something you can buy in your local pharmacy.

I wonder if whoever comes up with these bogus recommendations is going for grossness. Would they pick a suppository next?

But there is no denying the absolute truth:

The pandemic will NOT end until there are no more people to infect.

That can happen only two ways: you can get vaccinated, or you can stay unvaxxed, and take your chances of getting infected then take your chances of hospitalization then take your chance of dying from COVID.

Before you choose, I suggest you go back up and read the bits about how COVID has already clogged up hospitals and your local hospital may have no place to put you when you need it. It's already reported that 25% of the ICUs in the entire US are now 95% full

Then I suggest you read the news I posted a few days ago, about how a Texas girl died within HOURS of getting a fever. She complained of a fever at 2AM. Her grandma gave her some children's Tylenol and put her to bed. By 7AM she's dead. Autopsy confirmed it was COVID. Kali's mother was isolating at home the day before, from COVID. Kali was only 4 years old.

And remember that young children cannot be vaccinated against COVID yet, only those 12 and older. While pediatric use may be approved soon, it may not come soon enough.

So the only way to protect young children is to mask them, and vaccinate older people around them. NOT to ignore the risks and pretend everything is kum-baya.

Just what reasons are preventing you from getting vaccinated? Think about that, are they REALLY valid reasons?

So now, make your choice. If not for you, then for the children.

Don't be a COVIDiot.
