My theory: the primary reason the US economy is suffering and we are not going back to normal is the unvaccinated population.
Why? Let me lay it out for you.
A) Cost
It costs at least $20000 to treat each COVID patient in a hospital. Studies show anywhere from just over $20000 to over $24000. And that's not counting any ventilator use. That's a fact.
B) COVID Vaccine Prevents Hospitalization
Researchers found that vaccines are 92-95% effective at preventing hospitalizations among those who have been vaccinated.
To project from this, most people in hospitals with COVID are unvaccinated. Indeed, this is verified through various news reports. And the percentage is around 90%. That's right, 90% of COVID cases in hospitals can be prevented.
So what happens when you combine these two facts?
The Math Adds Up
Let's do a bit of rounding DOWN. Let's say 84% of unvaccinated hospitalizations for COVID that were preventable. (Read this link to understand how the number was chosen)
Care to guess how many people that would be for the US that would be, from June to August 2021?
About 287000 people.
At $20000 each, that's 5.7 BILLION DOLLARS.
US could have saved $5.7 BILLION dollars if everyone got vaccinated, according to Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker. |
And that's NOT counting ancillary benefits, like very few children have to die from COVID, nobody has to be turned away from ICU because ICU was full, nobody would be overdosing from Ivermectin...
The sooner the pandemic runs out of victims, whether through death or vaccination, the sooner pandemic will end. That is obvious.
And it's the unvaccinated who does NOT want to return to normal, despite their rhetoric. They are holding up the recovery, more interested in their "freedom" than doing the right thing. They only want to focus on "you can't tell me what to do!"
The unvaccianted are COVIDiots.
Don't be COVIDiots like them.
